Marguerite Jay Gignoux

Artist |  Teacher | Collaborator

Fabric, paper, thread, dye, and ink are some of the common ingredients that I enjoy working with as a textile artist and educator. I create textile collages, mixed media and installations for gallery exhibitions and public buildings.  I also maintain an active teaching artist practice—collaborating with diverse populations and facilitating interdisciplinary community arts projects (Wrap). As a teaching artist, I have enjoyed collaborating with diverse populations and facilitating community arts projects in North Carolina. My projects have landed in libraries, schools, museums and hospitals throughout the state. I believe in the inventive power of rigging up pop up studios and reaching new audiences in the most unlikely places. I lead yearly art retreats to Val de Loire, France and am currently rolling out a Residency opportunity for Artists & Writers at Chateau du Pin.
