ABOUT CHATEAU DU PIN
I was born into a sprawling French-American family that holds some of its history in a big stone house in Anjou, France. Since 2004, my husband, David Summer and I have been facilitating art retreats at Chateau du Pin (CdP), Champtoce sur Loire. Le Pin is a magical setting for artistic exploration. The chateau, a 16th century fortified old manor house, sits on 300 acres that includes vineyards, farms, woodlands, and distinctive formal gardens. The property, a rustic blend of old stone and grand vistas, has been a vacation rental for over 35 years. Le Pin is family owned and run and full of eccentricity and charm. I enjoy interpreting Le Pin with the purpose of MAKING ART. Over the years, we have organized small and large groups, collaborating with other teaching artists to offer writing, cooking, bookmaking, painting, yoga, music, and mixed media workshops.
